Dr. Jelena Cerar is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the Institute for International Business (IIB) at WU Vienna. She earned her doctorate with honors from WU Vienna, focusing on resource allocation in multinational corporations (MNCs). Her dissertation received the Stephan Koren Best Dissertation Award and was a finalist for the AIB’s global best dissertation award. She has held postdoctoral positions at Copenhagen Business School, USC Marshall School of Business, and the Institute for Artificial Intelligence Research and Development of Serbia.
Dr. Cerar holds a master’s degree from the Erasmus Mundus EGEI program, having studied in China, Belgium, and Italy, and completed her undergraduate studies in Belgrade, Serbia. She brings industry experience from roles in international firms and co-founded Teach for Serbia, part of the Teach for All network. At WU Vienna, she previously served as Program Manager for CEE and Emerging Markets and lectured in the CEMS Master’s program.
Dr. Cerar’s research explores decision-making, behavioral strategy, AI, and cognition in MNCs. She also specializes in IB research methods, particularly experiments. Her work appears in top journals like Journal of International Business Studies and Journal of Management Studies, and has been recognized by AIB and the Academy of Management.
